Pink is for Blobfish: Discovering the World's Perfectly Pink Animals
Written and Jess Keating, Illustrated by David DeGrand
|
Some people think pink is a pretty colour. A fluffy, sparkly, princess-y colour. But it's so much more.
Sure, pink is the colour of princesses and bubblegum, but it's also the colour of monster slugs and poisonous insects. Not to mention ultra-intelligent dolphins, naked mole rats and bizarre, bloated blobfish.
Isn't it about time to rethink pink?

this is the best book apart from "if kids ruled the world" & "A Series of Unfortunate Events".this book is mostly about science and that's what I like about this. From 1-10 I would give it a 10. I gave it a happy face. the book is about different creatures that could be disgusting or cute depending on the way that you look at it
Diana let me read this book for a little while but after reading just a few pages it totally changed my opinion about the color pink! I used to think pink was a cute and girly color but really, it has a different side to it. I was interested in taking this book out last time we had the Silver Birch Book Club, but this book is sooooooo popular, someone already took it out. Next time, I hope I can get it first and read the rest of the book! [Thanks for letting me read the book Diana!]
I am so happy I finally got to read this book. this time I finished the whole book. It is very interesting. I showed my brother the book and read it to him and he totally freaked out after looking at the pink monkey. He said it's face looked like a butt. I also showed the book to my friends. Some of them said the book was cool but others were so grossed out just by looking at the blobfish, they did not even want to look inside the book. I think the ugliest animal was the naked mole rat. The coolest animal was the pink praying mantis. It looked just like a flower! Such amazing mimicry! I will recommend this book to all of my friends. This is my favourite nonfiction book.
