OCDaniel

2017 WINNER!

From the author of Incredible Space Raiders from Space! comes a brand-new coming-of-age story about a boy whose life revolves around hiding his obsessive compulsive disorder—until he gets a mysterious note that changes everything.
Daniel is the back-up punter for the Erie Hills Elephants. Which really means he’s the water boy. He spends football practice perfectly arranging water cups—and hoping no one notices. Actually, he spends most of his time hoping no one notices his strange habits—he calls them Zaps: avoiding writing the number four, for example, or flipping a light switch on and off dozens of times over. He hopes no one notices that he’s crazy, especially his best friend Max, and Raya, the prettiest girl in school. His life gets weirder when another girl at school, who is unkindly nicknamed Psycho Sara, notices him for the first time. She doesn’t just notice him: she seems to peer through him.
Then Daniel gets a note: “I need your help,” it says, signed, Fellow Star child—whatever that means. And suddenly Daniel, a total no one at school, is swept up in a mystery that might change everything for him.
With great voice and grand adventure, this book is about feeling different and finding those who understand.

OCDaniel is a story about a 13 year old boy named Daniel. He's the backup guy for the football team. Which means he's the water boy. He has a cool brother named Steve, and a younger sister named Emma. And, he likes a girl named Raya Singh a long with a best friend named Max. Daniel has a disorder called OCD. But later on, he gets some notes singed 'Fellow Star Child'. One of the notes are 'I Need Your Help.'. Soon, he realizes it's from a shy girl called Sara Malvein. Sara needs his help to see what actually happened to her dad. Together they go through a lot, but for Daniel it's worth it. And soon while he and Sara are trying to solve something, he gets a call from Max and realizing he now has to play on the football team. His life is a busy one! What I liked about OCDaniel was that Daniel was a smart, and nice guy who likes to help others. I didn't dislike anything.
This is my review on OCDaniel.

The title page of the book is sooooooooooooooooo confusing! When I first looked at the book I did Not have a clue as to what the title was. Was it OCDaniel? Was it OCD aniel? Was it OCD Daniel? I finally went on the blog and found out it was OCDaniel. Overall I like the story but I do not LOVE it. I still gave this book a smiley face because it was better than an ok book. I will still recommend this book to some people:)
